Environmental
Conservationism

Environmental conservation organisations can use aerial surveying to map, monitor and document sensitive landscapes with detailed, repeatable data. High-resolution orthomosaics, elevation models and point clouds support habitat mapping, vegetation-condition assessment, erosion monitoring, waterway and drainage analysis, rehabilitation tracking and environmental reporting. Repeat surveys enable direct comparison over time, helping teams identify changes in canopy cover, ground disturbance, sediment movement, riverbank erosion or restoration progress. Drones can also capture data across remote, uneven or sensitive areas with less physical access and disturbance than many on-ground methods. This provides clearer evidence for conservation planning, compliance, funding applications and adaptive land-management decisions. Flights should be planned carefully to minimise disturbance to wildlife and comply with site, landholder and aviation requirements.
